Who do you look to for spiritual guidance?
Listen in to discover the agendas your advisors might have and how to make a great choice.
Not everyone is positioned to be a spiritual mentor. Coach Linda provides considerations you may not have thought of when looking for a spiritual mentor.
We can be tempted to move in a direction opposite of God if we are not alert to the agendas, wisdom, and words of those we allow to influence our decision-making.
Thought consideration – “Not everyone who has an opinion is positioned to give us wisdom.”
Here are a few Scriptures, Heather and Linda talk about in this episode.
Consider the agenda of others.
We read in Proverbs 12:15-16, The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice. Fools show their annoyance at once, but the prudent overlook an insult.
Consider who gives you wisdom.
We find in – James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Filter the words of influencers.
Proverbs 12:18 – The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.1 John 2:10 NIV
