Welcome to Let’s Journey Together- a Moment with Father.
I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.
Are you frustrated by your frustration?
Have you ever been disappointed, frustrated, or angered by a family member?
Are names rushing in? You’re not alone.
Been there and done that myself, and I have multiple t-shirts to prove it. The closer we are to someone, the more we become emotionally dissatisfied in some facet of the relationship.
Feelings dangle on shirt sleeves, daring onlookers to brush them the wrong way.
The last straw. The other shoe. The look. We wait. Knowing any minute now …
I get frustrated by my frustration.
How about you?
Are you falling out of balance when it comes to loving your family?
GOD calls us to love Him and our neighbors. Read Matthew 22:37-40
He also commands us to love our family.
“And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.” 1 John 4:21 ESV
We are to come alongside each other in love. Even those who rub us the wrong way. Or those “we” rub the wrong way.
Whether we consider our biological family or those we gather with for birthdays/life celebrations and holidays, or our spiritual family, brothers and sisters in Christ, we are told to love them.
Loving one another goes beyond how we feel about them. We must first capture in our hearts how God feels about us.
If anyone, a.n.y.o.n.e., has the motive to be disappointed, frustrated, or angry with their family, it’s God. Yet.
He loves us beyond measure.
He loves us in spite of our failures, behaviors, and attitudes.
He flat-out loves us.
Therefore, knowing His love, His personal love, should give us the ability to offer grace and mercy to those we love.
When I’m challenged with loving someone, I strive to love God more by digging deeper into Scripture. Truth abounds on each page to equip us for every aspect of life. We need simply to open the Bible and receive it.
How are you loving God more today?
Let’s journey together
Help me, LORD, to love others as You love me. When I struggle with my emotions or judge others because of their emotions, please give me peace for the journey. I know all things are possible with You, and I desire to live at peace with everyone. You are Christ. My Savior. My Lord. Hallelujah. Amen.
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22
May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
