Welcome to Let’s Journey Together- a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

Are You In Need Of Rest?

My life is full. Plain and simple. Whether I turn to the left or to the right I find limited breaks in my day. Yet, I’m designed for rest. In truth, my brain and body must experience rest to function at my best.

Therefore, I take mini-Sabbaths throughout the day. My timer goes off. I stop, drop what I’m doing (not literally, the noise would frighten my pups), and roll back away from my desk for 5-10 minutes. I stand and stretch for a moment then sit down and lean back into my Sabbath.

Care to join me? Close your eyes and picture yourself in the most relaxing place you can imagine.

Listen carefully. What sounds do you hear?

Birds chirping?
Water flowing?
Soothing music?
Children laughing?
Enjoy this moment.

Breathe in deep. What smells are you experiencing?

Fresh air? Flowers? Freshly baked bread? Clean air after a rain?

Allow your senses to catch up to your resting place.

Envision life with no pain. No tears. No anger. No worries.

A life of peace. Joy. Love. Patience. Kindness. Gentleness.

And breathe in deep the refreshing sweetness of God’s love.

Feel His loving arms of grace around you.
Lay back into His arms of assurance.
Trust God to relieve you from your burdens.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 ESV).

Now open your eyes.
Take a sip of water.
Consider how you feel.

I usually feel relaxed, calm, mentally clear, and ready to move back into my task at hand.

Choose this day to experience God’s rest—one breath at a time.

Let’s journey together.

Father, thank You for giving me rest. Thank You for drawing me close. Praise You for loving me. Praise You for making a way through my hectic day. You, O Lord, are my hope. My joy. My peace. I find rest in You. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves, do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
