Let’s Journey Together- a Moment with Father.
Is loneliness the new pandemic?
When Covid-19 surfaced, isolation became the new normal.
Visual engagement-minimized.
Masking eliminated facial engagement.
No smiles.
No toothy grins.
No sideway smirks.
Half a face with searching eyes is all I saw.
The result of our isolation was universal loneliness.
And no one is immune.
After eight months of staying home, my loneliness surfaced as sadness.
Subtle. Sneaky. Sadness.
As a strong, outgoing female, I do not handle sadness well.
How about you?
Zooming on a flat screen or FaceTime became my community.
My relationships were no longer 3-D.
Outside of my hubby, Sam, and our precious country dogs, every connection was emotionally distant and visually flat.
No hugs. No handshakes. No touch.
Let’s stay real here; no matter our personality, the nurture of touch, the reassurance of belonging, and the affirmation of who we are help us thrive. Am I right?!?
Yet, though separated from those we love, praise God, a pandemic doesn’t separate us from our Father.
“He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken” (Psalm 62:2 ESV).
As followers of Christ, we have the Holy Spirit.
He is Faithful, Trustworthy, and Forgiving.
He is Love and Always Present.
He is our rock and salvation—He never departs from us.
No one or no thing can take that away.
If you are feeling alone, reach up and take His hand.
Your life can be renewed through Christ, my precious one—Hope is here.
Let’s journey together.
Father God, a friend sits in the dark waiting to hear, “I see you, I know you, I love you.”
O Lord, we need You more than ever to ensure the value of our existence.
Help us to know You more through Scripture.
Open our eyes to receive Your love, a love so pure that no earthly comparison can satisfy.
Draw godly people into our paths so loneliness diminishes, and help true friendships grow from those who know and love You.
Thank you, Abba, for loving us and providing for us beyond our understanding.
Hallelujah.
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22
May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
Enjoyed hearing you read about loneliness. Even though I am a widow now, I still have those moments when I think about it, but always remember that I have Father God with me during the day and night. HE is always there for me. And there are always songs that I sing to occupy my time. God bless!
Amen! Thank you for sharing.
Blessings,
Linda
