Her book The Joy Box Journal, published by Hachette Book Group, was released in July 2019. She enjoys telling stories and adding sprinkles of joy and a few extra dollops to liven them up.
After suffering the unthinkable – the death of three-year-old Blake, she found that joy can be found in any circumstance.
Today’s Thought Consideration is to Be on the lookout for joy. You never know who God will put in your life.
This was interesting. When I heard Adria said that she was joyful when she encountered relatives/friends crying about Blake passing. When my husband passed away, I was shocked that he left me, but I did not cry. I KNEW where he was and was at peace. Every once in a while, I think of an incident, and I cry but it is not a sobbing cry. I just miss him so much. Always thought we would retire and take short trips. Not so. But, God is good!
Adria’s take on joy moves me to consider, as it seems you do, where my loved one is. Am I happy the loss occurred, no. Am I filled with joy knowing where my loved one is – absolutely. The joy by no means removes the pain, yet hallelujah we can rejoice because God is so very good.
Thank you for joining our conversation. I don’t have your name, but Father knows, and I am lifting you in prayer, my sister.
Blessings… Lin da
Thank you for listening. There is a peace knowing our loved ones are in heaven. We carried a heavy burden during Blake’s short life. It did feel like a weight off my mind and body. I didn’t sleep for almost three years. I didn’t realize how much a toll it took on me. It is hard losing a loved one. After doing this episode and listening to it again it did bring back alot of memories. It is hard to relive some of it but I think it is good for our healing.

Thank you, Adria for sharing from your heart. You are a blessing!
Thank you for sharing your story, Adria! I’ll never forget that day when Erik ran out of the office to hurry home and see about Blake. Concern, fear for what might be, nervous energy … all feelings we had in the office that day. I’m thankful that God has walked through these years with y’all. Also thankful that He is always good. Blessings to you and Erik.
Sweet friend Adria, Linda, and Heather, this episode blessed me. I knew your story and your book, Adria, and appreciate the way you share the joy of Jesus.
Aww, thank you, Jeannie. You are a blessing. Thank you for joining our conversation.
