Welcome… to Let’s Journey Together- a Moment with Father.
I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.
Is Your Goodness Attractive?
As I think about my day-to-day activities, a recurring thought invades my peace. “Is God’s goodness evident in my life?”
You know when you meet someone and think, “There’s something about this person drawing me in to know them more.” Not in a creepy way, but in a subtle, feel-good, feel-safe way.
I’ve encountered strangers who are now my friends because of the strong attraction to get to know them. Over the years, I discovered it’s the goodness of God I experience in them. Every time.
God’s goodness is given to us via the Holy Spirit. Once our life becomes His temple, Father’s goodness is like lit incense, drawing attention to who He is in us to who He is in others. And who He desires to be in the lives of those who experience His sweet aroma.
Does the thought of our Creator’s presence being experienced by others through you seem impossible?
Oh, my friend, not only is it possible, it’s guaranteed. Read in Titus how the goodness and kindness of our Savior are poured richly on those who are justified by His grace.
“But when the goodness and loving kindness of God our Savior appeared, he saved us, not because of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom he poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that being justified by his grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life” (Titus 3:4-7 ESV).
Before I experienced others seeing God’s goodness in me, I felt awkward, too. I actually ignored the words spoken into me because it felt weird. Yet, over time, as my spiritual life grew, I recognized multiple purposes of the Holy Spirit residing in me.
One purpose is to project Himself to others in their day-to-day lives through us. My life is not about me but the Holy Spirit in me. How powerful is that?!? When others meet us, the goodness of God in us will attract them to Him. We simply follow His leading.
How have you experienced the Holy Spirit leading you?
One thing I say to Father each morning is, “May all I do, all I say, and all I consider bring You glory, O God.”
Isn’t it a great feeling to know our God loves communicating with us?
Let’s journey together
Abba Daddy, thank You for loving me so much.
Thank You for being ever present in my life and wanting an intimate relationship with me.
Guide my heart, Holy Spirit, to listen closely for Your voice.
Help me use my words, actions, and thoughts to bring You glory and honor. I call You my God, and I place all my hope in Your Son, Jesus. May Your goodness in me be attractive to others every day.
Hallelujah.
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22
May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
The working of the Holy Spirit in us and through us is difficult to explain to another unless the person is a believer. Then His presence is understood between the two without words. There is simply a knowing for how can we explain the holy.
Donna, you are so right. In the knowing, allo things are made clear. I always ask Father to give me just what I need to share and to help me keep the rest to myself – lol
Having a very stand-away/don’t get too close personality back in my younger days, I have always wondered why people I hesitate to be around gravitate towards me. It is not that I don’t want to associate with them, I am ready on my terms. My husband and I lived back in the woods on a plantation for 42 years and we stayed to ourselves. Never did like a lot of people around. Still with me today. Just don’t associate with many folks. Know very few people in church. I don’t go to associate anyhow but to hear word and for praise and worship.
Mary, thank you for being transparent. There are times when people can crowd in without our understanding of why. Yet, God. I will b e in prayer with you for His discernment and release to continue worshipping Him, no matter what others do.
