Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

Where do your commitments live?

Over the course of my lifetime, I could have written “easily overcommitted” on numerous resumes. Praise the LORD, it wasn’t an option for me to check off.

By trial and error, I’ve realized that misplaced commitments are draining.

At some point in life, we are all susceptible to buying into the tempting and, on occasion, addictive choices readily available in the world today.

Built-in Commitments

There are choices I’ve made with built-in commitments that keep me busily unproductive.

Ahh—The Tempter’s ploy.

Keeping us busy with unproductive commitments removes margin from our day-to-day life.

Without margin, we have no room for the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Do you see where this is leading?

Refusing to sleep in order to:

  • finish playing online games
  • watch a little bit more television
  • add one more touch to a project
  • and so on

Do we r-e-a-l-l-y enjoy living without margin?

No one thrives without margin. I know I can’t.

I need breathing room, resting room, and giving room every day.

Thank God, for He has a plan for my plans.

Instead of running the rat race of possibilities or jumping in for fear of missing out, I must choose to commit whatever I do to the LORD first.

“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.” Proverbs 16:3

No matter the options or opportunities, I seek Father first.

“Lord, this is Your day, I’m Your vessel. How do You want to use me today? Tomorrow? This year?”

Then I wait. I pray. I listen.

Opportunities come and go.

I commit to some but not to all.

The phrase “Thank you, but not at this time” crosses my lips more often. And it feels good.

Hmm, this was a longer-than-usual post.
Thank you for listening or reading and giving me a little margin.

May Father bless your day with margin as well.

Let’s journey together.

Praise You, O Lord.

Your plans are the only plans worth pursuing.

Help me to stay on Your path today.

I’m excited about the journey ahead. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
