Do you live a sacrificed life?

The first time I read Romans 12:1-2, I had to pause for a moment, “Is it possible to live a sacrificed life?”

We usually connect sacrifice with death. Yet, death is not what Father is speaking through the Apostle Paul. A sacrificed life is worship-full, holy, accepted by God, and transformed.

“I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:1-2 ESV

Okay, wait. A sacrificed life may be too difficult after all. Right!?!

How is it possible for me to be holy, transformed, full of worship, to the point of being accepted by God?

Impossible. On. My. Own.

Yet, through the Scriptures, we learn that God’s mercies make it possible. A renewed mindset to test and discern the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God makes it personal.

The ultimate sacrifice of Christ covers us with His holiness. And guidance from the Holy Spirit gives us strength.

As I now see my life as a living sacrifice, I trust and depend on the mercy of God to open my eyes, my heart, and my mind to His will.

In the process, because for sure a life sacrificed for God is not an overnight happening, I gain clarity into the truth of Scripture.

God’s truth reveals worldly lies and my mind is transformed to knowing Him more. In knowing Him more, my sacrifice moves from I should live this way to it’s essential to be a living sacrifice. Boom! What a great God we serve.

How do you best experience God’s transforming mercies?

Oh, that we would choose this day to renew our minds and walk in God’s mercy.

Let’s journey together

Father, thank You for mercy. Your will is what we seek. Thank You, Jesus, for the truth that sets us free to a deeper understanding of You. Holy Spirit, guide our hearts to know you more. Praise be to our God, three-in-one, the Alpha and Omega, the Giver of Life, Creator, Savior, and Strong Tower. Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God all mighty. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
