Does humility confuse you?
When you’re told to embrace humility, do you envision a doormat or a bended knee?
Taking a low view of one’s own importance (humility) can lead some to believe they should think less of themselves in a negative way.
Whereas humility before God, takes us to our knees to see others and ourselves from a different vantage point.
A humble heart cares for others.
A humble heart does not boast.
A humble heart does not accuse.
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.” Philippians 2:3-4 NIV
My world truly comes into balance when I fall to my knees. The only doormat I see has Welcome written on it, and I view others with arms open wide. When I’m on my knees, my perspective changes. . . in so many ways.
My heart is repositioned with God’s will in mind, and it’s then I’m able to assess and discern needs beyond my own and to believe I’m enough, just as I am. To God be the glory.
Let’s Journey Together.
Praise You, Lord, for You are Mighty indeed. Give me a humble heart so that I may see the needs of others above my own. Remove the veil telling me I have no value. Move me to reach out to the hurting and helpless. Bind together the hearts of Your children that we stand unified for You, O God. We love You and adore You. Hallelujah. Amen.
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22
May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
