Welcome to Let’s Journey Together- a Moment with Father.
I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit Linda Goldfarb.com.
I’m so glad you’re here.
How easily is your heart distracted?
Have you experienced an emotional squirrel moment? I have.
Those times when I get caught up in outlying circumstances.
Those moments when my heart is pulled in opposite directions.
Those moments when my forward motion is halted or distracted by opportunities of promise that aren’t what they seem.
Our hearts are vulnerable.
Our hearts are sensitive.
Our hearts are easily broken.
The enemy knows this.
An easily distracted heart is our human factor.
Our ability to care.
Our ability to express compassion.
Our ability to show empathy.
We must be ever on guard and alert to what’s truly drawing us.
The deceiver is lurking.
Unmet desires make us vulnerable in relationships.
Unacknowledged skills make us vulnerable in the workplace.
Underappreciated abilities make us vulnerable to envy.
The list goes on, and each vulnerability points back to the heart.
God knows this.
He knows us.
Therefore, He makes a way to help us stay on track despite the squirrels.
We discover in 2 Thessalonians 3:5 NIV, that we are never alone and incredibly empowered “May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance.”
As siblings, we all have the Holy Spirit in us.
That’s amazing, right?!? With Him, we can avoid the emotional squirrels.
The Holy Spirit is our guide.
He is our spiritual compass.
He does not lead us astray.
His way is the best for us.
Our challenge —we must be willing to hear, trust, and obey to keep emotional squirrels at bay.
Emotional squirrels are kept at bay when we are willing to hear, trust, and obey. Share on XAre you ready to join me in the challenge?
Let’s journey together.
Precious Father, I am easily distracted by the trimmings and promises of the world. Help me focus on you. You are the only one who can fully meet my needs. Everything else is a temporary satisfaction that fades with each passing day. Help me guard my heart with Your Word. Draw me close and keep my heart ever-focused on You. In Jesus’ name. Hallelujah.
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves, do what it says. James 1:22
May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb. And I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
