Welcome to Let’s Journey Together…a Moment with Father.
I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit Linda Goldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.
In your spiritual walk—do you take the stairs or the escalator?
As a young athlete, running stadium bleachers was strenuous but effective.
The act of picking up one foot at a time to climb and being ever watchful for each step going down kept me focused on the goal.
Taking the escalator may help me reach the same location, but it will not strengthen the muscles required to reach my goal.
Discipline is key.
Taking the stairs requires discipline. The same discipline it takes to thrive in our spiritual life.
Allowing myself to be molded by YHWH into the daughter He has designed me to be is not easy. At times, discipline is painful. Yet, if my desire is to know Him more, I must meet the pain head-on—and be trained by it. Not defeated by it.
And that, my friend, is discipline.
“No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it” (Hebrews 12:11 NIV).
Consider any training program. Pain or discomfort may be a motivator to move, but discipline moves us forward in the right direction.
Has YHWH challenged you with a new discipline?
No matter the discipline you’re struggling with, don’t fight it. Embrace it.
Set that alarm to get up and out the door.
Clean out your closet.
Attach a sticky note of encouragement to your bathroom mirror.
Place a “No junk food allowed” sign on your refrigerator.
Honor your time with Father daily, and remain steadfast to learning more about Him.
Sweep off those stairs, my friend, and take the first step.
Your harvest will be great!
Let’s journey together.
Father, thank You for equipping me to do Your will. Guide my heart to desire You above all things. Give me one new thought of righteousness to ponder this day. Allow Your peace to cover my every step. Open my mouth at just the right moment and close it when listening is a better choice. I give You honor this day through my actions and thoughts. Hallelujah.
Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22
May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
