Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your time with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

It’s More Than a Feeling

Some mornings, I’m like, “There’s so much to get done. Will I make it through the day? Ugh! I’m just not feeling it.”

Are you laughing at me or nodding your head in agreement? Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m blessed, and I know it. Life could be oh so different and difficult. Yet, in the midst of things going well, I hit a slump.

If you’re anything like me, your mind races from one thought to another. “Is this all there is?” “Will I ever slow down enough to simply enjoy my life instead of race through it?” “Why do I feel scattered?” “I’m putting out fire after fire.”

Perhaps your slump is more like, “Does anyone really care?” “It would be so nice to have a friend to talk to.” “I wish my talents were being used more.”

Racing thoughts go on and on, yet one thought is clear.

God hears me, and He desires His best for me.

We read His promise in Deuteronomy 31:8, “It is the Lord who goes before you. He will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.”

He hears us, “I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, and he will hear me” (Psalm 77:1 ESV).

I’m so glad God never says, “I’m not feeling it today.” Whoa!

With His promises in mind, let us choose to slow down a bit and consider the thoughts flitting around in our heads.

Am I driving my thoughts, or are my thoughts driving me?

Am I caught up in me, me, me, my, my, my, and I, I, I to the point where He is not my focus? My mind was blown again—poof!

Could it be I’m not “feeling it” because there’s too much to wrap my head around or too little to get revved up about? Hmmm?

Since slowing down is not my natural flow, I can take mental breaks amidst the go, go, go.

—Set a timer once an hour and close my eyes for 3-5 minutes to do nothing.

—Give myself a 15-minute walking break three times a day.

—Lean back in my chair periodically throughout my day and listen to five minutes of classical music.

What about you? What can you do to negate not feeling it?

Let’s journey together.

Lord, my days are Yours. My mind is not closed off to You. You feel my desires. My best is what You have prepared. Thank You, O God, for loving me. Thank You for going before me, being beside me, capturing my tears, and holding my hand. Help me this day to hear You and heed Your will. Guide my mind to a place of peace, comfort, and joy. I praise You alone. Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.
