Silence is Our Friend

Let’s Journey Together and spend a Moment with Father.

I’m Linda Goldfarb, and I want to encourage and inspire your walk with the Lord. For more encouragement, please visit LindaGoldfarb.com. I’m so glad you’re here.

How do you respond to silence?

It’s early morning. Silence is inviting me in. The warm glow from a nearby salt lamp fills the room, and my mind claims peace in the moment.

In these times of silence, I connect easily to the Lord. I say easily… yet it’s more unhindered than easy. Nothing is vying for my attention, so I sit in His presence and soak up His truth, similar to a moment shared by David in Psalm 62:1-2 ESV.

“For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.”

I shall not be greatly shaken. I appreciate that David included the word greatly as he spoke out about not being shaken. I am sometimes shaken, yet knowing God is my rock, salvation, and fortress, I’m not greatly shaken. Peace envelopes me, and I embrace the silence even more.

What do you experience when your world gets silent?

Be encouraged. Silence doesn’t mean being alone or empty. It can be a blessing you need to experience, and it’s just around the corner.

Let’s journey together.

Precious Father, You are my rock. Your truth satisfies my soul. When my heart grows weary, I seek out silence, for You are waiting there for me. Help me to be present in the silence with You. Calm my spirit so that I may experience You intimately. You are in me—my fortress, my rock, my salvation.

You are holy, holy, holy. I am not greatly shaken.
Hallelujah.

Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves; do what it says. James 1:22

May YHWH bless you, keep you, and guide you in all you do. Until next time, this is Linda Goldfarb, and I’m so glad we are on this journey together with Father.

Thank you. Just the Word I needed today.

    • Hi Elisabeth, Praise the Lord. He is faithful to provide exactly what we need, isn’t He? Blessings… Linda

  2. Holly Matthews says:

Just what I needed today. Recovering from surgery, everything hurts, can’t drive. What sustains me is my faith in Jesus. YHWY. YHWA.
I sleep a lot, I am depressed. I feel like a bird ensnared in a trap. I know it’s not true because Jesus isn’t going to let me be coming ensnared in a trap. It’s just easier to sleep. Thank you for your message. 🙏🏼🤠

    • Hello Holly, Praying for you. Recovery is a difficult time for sure. I’m trusting Father to provide you with strength for this time in your journey. Ask Him to lift the darkness and to pour out His light over your home, your room, and your mind. His promises are true, my sister. Blessings… Linda
