Hide and seek is not just for kids!
Did you ever play hide and seek as a child? My friends and I often played the heart-racing game up until dusk.
In this game, the “seeker” turns her back, places her hands over her eyes, and counts to 20 while everyone else runs and hides. Meanwhile, a skilled “hider” finds unique and unexpected places to tuck away in, hoping the “seeker” won’t be able to locate him.
In the game, the ever-vigilant seeker is determined to uproot every last hider out of their position of invisibility before they can make their way back to home base and tag in safely. And although the seeker searches with all of her heart, if someone can’t be found, you often hear the cry,
“All-ee, All-ee who’s out, comes in free!”
Here’s the truth: a seeker’s job becomes very difficult when someone doesn’t want to be found because their goal is to escape being seen.
Praise God; it’s not that way with Jesus.
We read in Jeremiah 29:13, “You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Meaning when we look for God wholeheartedly, we will find Him.
How do you seek God each day? I'd really like to know. Share on XOur Heavenly Father desires to be found by each of us.
